IMS Prize for Meat Science and Technology
The IMS Prize is awarded at the International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST), held every two years, in recognition of the scientific and technological excellence of researchers engaged in red meat studies. This Prize will be awarded for a presentation on red meat at ICoMST 2026 and is open to participants who are no older than 40 years of age as of 31 December 2026.
The recipient will be selected by a panel of internationally respected meat scientists and industry experts, with particular emphasis on submissions that have the greatest impact on industrial application, knowledge advancement, or the furtherance of meat science and technology. Eligible participants must indicate their interest through the ICoMST 2026 online short paper submission system, and their short paper must be submitted by the designated deadline.
The Prize winner will receive USD 2,000 (two thousand US dollars) at ICoMST 2028, where they will also present their award-winning research.

Meat Science Young Scientist Award
Since 2016, the Meat Science journal has recognized outstanding research contributions by young scientists (35 years of age or younger) at the International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST). This year, the Best Oral Short Paper Presentation Award will be determined by a panel consisting of the Editors and Editorial Board members of Meat Science.
To be eligible for this award, participants must indicate whether they agree to give an oral presentation when submitting their short paper. Please note that selecting a poster presentation will render the participant ineligible for this award.

Graduate Student Oral Presentation Award
To encourage and support the next generation of scholars who will contribute to the advancement of Meat Science and Technology in both academia and industry, ICoMST 2026 will host a Graduate Student Oral Presentation Competition. The competition will be organized into five thematic sessions (Sustainable Meat Product, Meat & Health; Muscle Biology & Meat Biochemistry; Meat Quality, Meat Microbiology, & Safety; Innovation of Meat Processing & Smart Factory; Market & Consumer Communications, Meat in the Future).
Outstanding graduate student presenters in each session will be selected through evaluation by the ICoMST 2026 Scientific Committee and will receive awards.
To be eligible for this award, participants must indicate their consent to give an oral presentation and to participate in the graduate student competition when submitting their short paper.

ICoMST 2026 will present the Best Oral Presentation Award and the Best Poster Presentation Award to recognize outstanding research and presentation excellence. The awards will be determined based on the scientific quality, originality, and clarity of the presentation, as evaluated by the ICoMST 2026 Scientific Committee.
Eligible participants must also indicate their interest through the ICoMST 2026 online short paper submission system, and their short paper must be submitted by the designated deadline.
